Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.
The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.
Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.
The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Perth offers fabulous cafés and restaurants and is an oasis of peace in this busy age. It is never too much trouble for friendly locals to chat or give advice.

I loved the train from the airport and being in the city centre it was easy walking around. I walked over the pedestrian bridge on the freeway and it took me up Mounts street and to Kings Park and caught the free city bus back. There was other attractions to see but I had come to go to a festival.

Perth is a beautiful city but avoid TAXI service and the Airport is dreadful and confusing, so make sure you understand the correct terminal as the two awful airlines are a 15 minute drive away from each other. Avoid the TAXI service. Catch Airport train for $5.10 or UBER. DO NOT CATCH A TAXI

Unfortunately we had very bad weather but that didn’t stop us exploring such beautiful city. Rottnest, Fremantle And Busselton were all beautiful. Margaret River wineries are a must see. Caves were amazing.
Very friendly front staff who are always helpful and give good recommendations. The view was good. The room size is ok and we wont expecting much. But the bed was comfortable, lots of tv channel to choose. Location was at the fringe of the Perth City but within walking distance of Cat Bus, so its ok. Overall, value for money hotel that is reliable.
The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful to all guests. They remembered my name and made me feel like an important guest.
The hotel was neat and tidy, with easy access to the airport and one of Perth's main highways.
My stay at Sanno Marracoonda was the highlight of an otherwise very difficult trip.
Location in s amazing, easy access to beach and the view really is great. Convenient access to grocery and a variety of dining options for all times of day. Easy to get to Perth CBD or other attractions. Appreciated the kitchen furnishings, able to prepare full meals during extended stay.
We loved our stay at East Perth Suites Hotel. Our suite was lovely, exceptionally clean with a beautiful view of the water from her our window and balcony. The Hotel is located in a beautiful area with cafes, restaurants, IGA and gorgeous parks nearby.
The location is excellent. Really centrally located in the CBD area and we walked to our meetings. Several nice restaurants and great coffee shops nearby. Location is the key plus of this hotel. Unfortunately that was the only plus imo.
Location is great for a stop in Perth, close to all bars and restaurants.
Staff were both well mannered and polite, better than when I stopped in Dubai at an over priced 5 star hotel. Breakfast was great and early staff brilliant
I got a free upgrade to stay in a room in Quest (West End) apartments hotel. The hotel was bigger in size and located in the city center. So going to work or shopping was very easy. The amenities were good and satisfactory.
Location is good. Cat free bus at the door. Very easy to travel to Perth Railway Station. This hotel doesn't meet Accor standards. Needs renovation. Breakfast ok can be bit more generous.
The room was nice enough but I had paid $20 more for a much nicer and bigger room the night before in a different hotel in Perth. It was close to the mint and free bus service.
The hotel was clean in a very good position for getting around Perth and the staff were both friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends.
The hotel has a real charm to it, you quickly forget that you’re in Perth - feels a bit like a resort. The art is phenomenal. Pool was clean and very refreshing.
