We had such fun here. Brilliant views. Cool caravans with air conditioning. Everyone treated us beautifully. Such an important site as part of Ein Gedi Kibbutz. Glad we visited and loved all we met.

The place is situated in an oasis outside the town of Arad. You get the desert experience, but without giving up the option of a supermarket or other comforts of civilization.
cAmEls! If you like camels or one or more of your children like them, this is a great place for you o feed, pet and even ride them. You have an option of sleeping in a Bedouin tent, a hut or even a comfortable modern room. Some guests brought their own popup tents and set them inside the Bedouin tent, to get max privacy and protection from the elements.
The oasis is about 20 minutes easy drive from Masada-west, where you can watch the audio-visual show after nightfall.
Featuring an outdoor pool and air conditioning, HI - Massada Hostel lies at the foot of the Massada plateau on the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert.

Wow, shocked at how bad this hotel is. I don’t think you can really call it a hotel. Tiny rooms, zero view, very run down. Hotel restaurant has some of the worst food we have ever had and is super expaive. The pool is a kibitz pool shared with residents.

Ein Gedi Beach is closed. But you can reach Kalya Beach by bus or car in half an hour. Or you go down south, there are plenty of beaches there.

There were a lot of houseflies everywhere! ;-( The place has potential BUT it is really not clean... I don't recommend it, it was torture for us to stay there. What more my friend hanged a lightly wet dress in front of our tent and it was stolen.

A gorgeous oasis in the middle of the dessert.
A gorgeous oasis in the middle of the dessert. Birds, ibixes, hyraxes. The David waterfalls is beyond gorgeous.
The hikes are great and moderately difficult.
bring LOTS of water and go first thing in the morning before the throngs of school kids come.

If you want to have a silent night, don't stay here.
If you want to have a silent night, don't stay here. It's a very nice camping, with a lot of fun, but we had to get up early at 4.30am (to climb the massada), so the music which was still playing loudly till 11pm (or later) was just not a good option. But if you like fun in the evening, it's very excellent place. Thus I'll recommend it strongly in that case. The (public) bathroom is very clean.

We stayed in a superior room with beautiful view over the Ein Gedi nature reserve.
Breakfast and Dinner in the Restaurant were excellent with a huge selection of dishes.
Great service at the spa with relaxing salt and fresh watr pols
The apartment and its location are beautiful. It's located within the kibbutz itself, so you get a glimpse of kibbutz life, but you have access to the hotel facilities; the pool is a short walk through the botanical gardens of the kibbutz and you receive a 10% discount at the hotel restaurant and spa. There is a view of the Dead Sea from the balcony and stunning views of the surrounding desert. The hostess, Bar, was super friendly and helpful. If we needed anything, she provided it. Overall, we had an amazing stay. It was hard to leave!
Excellent choices at dinner and breakfast. Lovely to have the SPA now within the kibbutz - with easy access. The planning of all the rooms and spaces gives such a sense of privacy and space, as well as safety. COVID precautions were also in place. There is a shop which isn't so common in the area, so with the fridge in the room, there can be a lot of chill facing the awesome desert mountains. Bathroom was huge with a bath with a view to the desert.
In terms of Dead Sea options, this is really the best.
When asked, they happily provided a 2nd, larger top sheet. They also were happy to provide hot water for coffee we brought, at no extra charge, even though they sell coffee. They were helpful with directions. Plenty of refrigerator space. A birthday party for a 5-year-old boy was a surprise. WiFi was strong in the common area.
Good spacious room with kitchen, large veranda from which we could see the Dead Sea and bedroom area. Excellent hotel restaurant with buffet dinner as well as access to hotel large swimming pool area. Lovely botanical gardens in the kibbutz. Ein Gedi only a few minutes drive from kibbutz. Parking available in kibbutz grounds.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Rooms were clean and big and comfy. The staff was really nice, at first when we arrived, we asked for a different room and immediately got what we asked for. Hotel restaurants are very good. Overall we are pleased with our stay and would definitely return in the future.
dreamy spot, amazing views, vans with all the amenities, showers and toilets clean enough, very chill common area (pool table, table tennis etc.), the vans even have bbq grills on the terraces, you cant buy coal or wood at the camp lodge though, have to get it at the minimarket in the Ein Gedi Kibbutz.
Beautiful studio with very nice terras, overlooking the mountains and the Dead Sea. Clean bathroom with excellent Ahava shower gel and shampoo. The host is very helpful and prepared a little fruitsalad as welcome. Easy parking, a mini market nearby… perfect place to discover zin Gedi, Masada etc
Ranaan was very responsive and met us at the entrance. He explained us everything in the Kibbutz and also gave us valuable information about the Shabbat travel and shopping. He was very generous with the check out time and we enjoyed and appreciated that a lot! Thank You Ranaan.
The apartment is in the residential section of the kibbutz, a quiet neighbourhood. The apartment was sparking clean and furnishings were in excellent condition. Everything needed for self service was provided in good condition. The host was friendly and very helpful.
great location on a charming kibbutz across from the Dead Sea. Roomy and practical apartment with good sports channels on tv 😌
Joshua the host was very friendly and great in communication. parking spot very close to the apartment.
The Breakfast was very nice, We also took Buffet Lunch, it was very good. The Hostel is secure, nicely located and well maintained. Just note that its a Hostel and not a hotel, thus all the things are basic, nothing exceptional.
Real glamping. Great lovely atmosphere and clean and spacious place to put up the tent. Enough picnic benches for everyone and all kinds of places to relax. Even bathroom area was beautiful.
It was wonderful staying in a kibbutz environment…felt extraordinarily safe, had use of a huge swimming pool, a few restaurant options and easy access to Ein Gedi, Massada and The Dead Sea
Wonderful host, wonderful apartment (looks even better than on photos), great atmosphere. Even had spares for everything if you didn't bring it with you
